We have two Dell machines with M Office installed. Outlook on both has a habit of going milky white, you get 'whirling circles' and typically Outlook will crash and then refuse to restart without a complete machine restart.

I have multiple Dell computers each of which have Office MS subscription installed along with a whole slew of test Virtual Machines with different Office ofice and every one of these have ScanPST in the designated for 32bit installs one of which is shown in the attached screenshot. The best way to resolve anything related to encoubtered OST file is to with Outlook closedrename the OST file and then open Outlook which will result in a new OST file getting automatically created and for an IMAP account - the email folders will get sync'd with the server but the data in any "This Computer Only" folders will be empty.
Not entirely convinced that this is a data file issue and highly unlikely that any stand-alone PST file would be causing this issue but repairing PST files and letting Outlook create new OST files wouldn't hurt anything.
